In May 2008, the Italian Society of Haematology has recommended practice guidelines for the management of iron overload to include a yearly MRI to determine Liver Iron Concentration, to insure patients are appropriately chelated.

Resonance Health has been working with the research community and clinicians in the management of iron overload in thalassaemia patients for many years. We are delighted to see the FerriScan test being recommended by the Italian Society of Haematology as part of practice guidelines for the management of iron overload in thalassaemia major and related disorders.
