FerriScan And Cardiac T2* Services Showcased In Europe

22 December, 2014

Resonance Health exhibited at the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) conference in Athens and the UK Forum in London to profile FerriScan and Cardiac T2* services to over 600 delegates from Europe.

The TIF Conference is a high profile regional event attended by over 500 delegates from both the medical and patient community. The scientific programme focused on the management of haemoglobinopathies and included guidance on transfusional iron overload in target patient populations.

Resonance Health's International Communications Manager, Melanie Baxter met with TIF President Panos Englezos and Vice President Dr Androulla Eleftherious during the Athens conference and discussed collaboration opportunities for 2015. The new Thalassaemia Guidelines launched by TIF at the conference specifically references FerriScan R2-MRI for quantitative MRI measurement of Liver Iron Concentration. TIF continue to advocate the role of FerriScan in improving patient outcomes internationally.

The UK Forum is a bi-annual meeting for the national Haemoglobinopathy medical community and saw approximately 100 delegates attend from throughout the UK and Ireland. Resonance Health co-sponsored a stand with Alliance Medical Imaging to showcase the 10 Alliance sites that have recently set up with FerriScan in the UK.

International Communications Manager, Melanie Baxter said;

"The Clinical Reference Group for Haemoglobinopathies has welcomed better access to FerriScan in the UK. We are currently working to achieve better funding pathways for referring consultants who wish to access the FerriScan service at new Alliance sites and plan to do further collaborative marketing activities in the New Year."
