Board

  Dr Stewart Washer, BSc (Hons), PhD
Chairman


Stewart has over 20 years of senior executive and Board experience in commercial technology companies in the medical, food, agricultural and industrial sectors. He was a founder of Biopacific Ventures, a $120m New Zealand based fund. He is currently a Venture Partner with the Swiss Inventages Fund, a €1.5 billion life science fund, funded by Nestle.
Stewart was the founding CEO of Phylogica Ltd (ASX:PYC) a company with a peptide drug discovery technology. Before this, he was CEO of Celentis and managed the commercialisation of intellectual property from AgResearch in New Zealand with 650 Scientists and $130m revenues.
Stewart is an Investment Director with IB Managers who have Australian and European life-science funds. Stewart is the Chairman of Hatchtech Pty Ltd who have a novel anti pest egg hatching technology and are in clinical trials with a headlice treatment. Stewart is a Director of Healthlinx (ASX:HTX) who have developed the first successful diagnostic for Ovarian Cancer and Genesis R&D (ASX:GEN) who have developed new ways to deliver siRNA drugs. Stewart sits on the Senate at Murdoch University, and the Federal Government Advisory Panel for Industrial Biotechnology and the Board of AusBiotech Ltd, the industry body for biotechnology.

  Dr Martin Blake, MBBS, FRANZCR, MBA, GAICD
Non Executive Director


Dr Blake is a Radiologist and Nuclear  Physician and brings a wealth of technical and industry experience to Resonance Health. He has been a partner of Perth Radiological Clinic since 1997 and is currently the Chairman of the company. Dr Blake additionally held the position of Head of Department of Nuclear Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital for a numbers of years. He has published more than a dozen peer review research papers and has been contributing author to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Imaging Guidelines. Dr Blake has additionally held positions as Secretary and Treasurer of the WA Branch of the RANZCR. Dr Blake has an MBA from Melbourne University, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds directorships on a number of company boards.


  Liza Dunne, BBus, GDipAppFin, GAICD
Managing Director


Ms Dunne joined Resonance Health in October 2003 and has been actively involved in all aspects of the business including business development and commercialisation of FerriScan, developing alliances with pharmaceutical industry partners and obtaining regulatory approval in various countries.
Ms Dunne has a wealth of experience in senior positions across industry. She worked for IBM for eleven years in financial, marketing and management positions, and spent five years with KPMG Consulting as a Senior Manager, working across a broad spectrum of industry and project areas that focused on improved business processes and implementation of new technology.
Ms Dunne holds a Business Degree, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


  Prof Timothy St Pierre, BSc (Hons), PhD
Executive Director


Professor St Pierre is a widely published physicist in the field of iron in medicine and biology. He has built a reputation for his pre-eminent understanding of the fundamental properties of the iron deposits that occur in iron overload diseases.  Professor St Pierre led the team which developed the FerriScan technology at The University of Western Australia. A winner of the 2010 Academy of Scientific and Technical Engineering (ATSE) Clunies-Ross Awards, Professor St Pierre is very highly regarded for his work in MRI-based technologies in the management of human disease.


  Mr Simon Panton
Non Executive Director


Mr Panton has been a strong supporter of the Company and the FerriScan® technology over a number of years and is a major shareholder of Resonance Health. Mr Panton brings skills in business and marketing having run his own successful business.

Chief Scientific Officer & Executive Director

Prof Tim St. Pierre is widely published in the field of iron in medicine and biology and has built a reputation as a physicist with an outstanding understanding of the fundamental properties of the iron deposits that occur in iron overload diseases. Tim who is a Professor led the team which developed the FerriScan technology at The University of Western Australia.

Eva O'Malley, BCom, CA
Financial Controller and Company Secretary

Eva initially joined Resonance Health in November 2005 as Financial Controller for a twelve month period. She subsequently returned in July 2007 to her present role. Eva has over ten years experience in managing the financial obligations of ASX listed corporations across a diverse range of industries.

Andrew Bathgate, BSc, MAppSc
QA & Regulatory Affairs Manager

Mr Bathgate joined Resonance Health in November 2008 as the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Manager.  Mr Bathgate has 15 years experience in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industries with the last 12 years in Quality Assurance and Regulatory roles.  Mr Bathgate holds a Science Degree (Medical Laboratory Science) and a Master of Applied Science (Biopharmaceuticals).

Dr Helen Pavitt, BSc (Hons), PhD
Clinical Manager

Dr Pavitt joined Resonance Health in October 2008. She is responsible for managing the company’s ongoing clinical and R&D projects, developing materials to support FerriScan® regulatory and reimbursement submissions and marketing activities. Dr Pavitt holds a Bachelor of Science with honours and a PhD (in Immunology) from the University of Western Australia, and is also an Honoury Research Fellow  in the School of Physics. She was previously the Clinical Trial Unit Manager at The Lung Institute of Western Australia and in clinical research at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research at The University of Sydney.

Noreen J Sullivan, BSc (Hons)
Vice President, US Business Development

In representing Resonance Health in the United States, Noreen draws on 28 years of experience in the US health industry. This encompasses strategic marketing, reimbursement, patient advocacy, business development and health economics and outcomes research. A significant part of Ms Sullivan’s career has been in the field of diagnostic imaging and she is currently co-chair of the Health Technology Assessment for Emerging New Technologies Working Group.

Melanie Baxter, BA (Hons)
International Communications Manager (UK based)

Melanie Baxter is a marketing communication specialist who has worked for multinational clients up to Board level.
With 17 years of strategic communication experience, particularly in health and medical matters Melanie develops and implements dynamic marketing and PR strategies. Her international network of contacts in the clinical and patient communities ideally positions Mealnie to develop business opportunities in Resonance Health’s target markets

Wendy Wardell, BA (Hons), MProfComms
Marketing and Communications Manager HQ (Australasia)

Wendy has had many years of involvement in the development of medical education programs in Australia and also in health industry marketing and communications. She currently has responsibility for Australasian marketing and overseas marketing support. Wendy has an Honours degree in Business and a Master of Professional Communication.
